Mike Vick was superman with a 7 on his chest. Perhaps one of the most electrifying athletes of our time. Yet, his kryptonite is his character, and no amount of money, opportunity, or God-given talent changes the heart. The same shortage of character that will send him to jail is the same thing that kept him from winning consistently on the field.
This man will be booed in every city he visits, even in Atlanta. I wonder if he will ever take another regular season snap again. Now that his partner in crime has made a deal he is toast.
As an aside, if Burt Reynolds wants to do another remake of the Longest Yard, the QB will be easy to cast.
As for the abortion issue, I have long given up trying to find consistency in the arguments on the pro-abort side. I can't send an aspirin to school with my child, but you can take my child from school to an abortion clinic for an evasive and potentially life-threatening procedure without ever telling me, her dad, about it. Preborn humans are expendable, but if you are found messing with sea turtle eggs you will rot in jail. Killing a pregnant woman can send me to jail for two murders, but if a woman kills her baby it's not murder, it's a choice. And this by the way is why liberals don't make it on talk radio and Boortz won't discuss abortion on his show. It's indefensable in the face of logic.

You know....a guy I work with is a big Falcons fan and he and I have been talking about this entire deal for some time......I'll say it again....I don't feel bad for the Falcons....they knew the risk they were taking....I am however (to this point at least) pleased with they way they have separated themselves from him...I think it's the right thing to do.....As far as abortion goes. My view may be a little different or it might just be worded differently....First of all...I don't believe abortion is right....and the protection of the act to me seems out of whack with the animal rights stuff....I will say this...no matter what my thoughts...it is legal by our countries laws (again, not saying it's right) but if we really want to cut down on the number of abortions and not just stand on our self righteous platforms and point at people and tell them they are going to hell...then we are going about it the wrong way.....protesting or even to the extreme, blowing clinics up lends credence to the view of religious wackos.....Why as the church (and I don't mean individual churches, although that would be great,....I mean us...as the body) aren't we doing a better job of reaching out or giving alternatives to these young, scared and confused girls who obviously have made bad choices? Now I know some headway is being made in this...but much damage has been done by the ones who yell the loudest, unfortunately...All I'm saying is that I don't think people just run out and get knocked up thinking.."If I get pregnant, I'll just kill it" I think it is the culmination of a series of events in their lives and poor choices....again, Not defending the act....just saying there is a lot more to it than just the abortion and I think we have done a bad job in reaching out to people with the redemptive story of Christ
Never intended for the post to be that long.....good topic Jeebs.
