We'll go with a straight 1-8.

Bama v Utah - probably a bye week this year and most years but for the 1 seed, you deserve it

Texas Tech v USC - the kind of game a playoff was made for. You have the upstart who no one is really sure about but they beat USC and all questions are answered.

Penn State v Oklahoma - another example. The Big 10 champ will likely get waxed and ousted in the first round, which is one reason they fight so ardently against it.

Texas v Florida - Most years, I think you get a heavyweight fight for the 4 v 5. Texas and Florida would be amazing.
