I didn't realize the BCS doesn't do a final ranking. Gotta love the message here. As if, we've done such a great job, it should be obvious where everyone stands.
Michael Adams has won me over in much the same way that nut from Louisiana did. But notice the similarities between his proposal and mine, published earlier on the PRF. Can it be that like Kramer, I've broken through? I'm in the public consciousness?
The thing that makes me most angry and the thing that should worry UGA fans is this. People talk about our season next year and point to the scehdule and say, "even with 2 losses, UGA should get in title game". While this SHOULD be true (I think I am going to stop arguing conference strength with anyone anymore ... if someone argues anything other than the SEC as vastly superior, they aren't worth arguing with) if one of those losses comes in the East and said team has an equal record (FL for example), we're in the exact same boat.
But the main problem is this. Florida had to have USC lose to UCLA in December or they would've been left out. LSU had to have so many things happen, it boggles the mind, and yet here sits OSU, confident in their being in the final game (praying that an SEC team won't make it in)
Any system that requires a miracle or series of miracles for the best team to even get in the championship game ... is corrupt, among other things.
This whole thing is so very bad, it makes me nauseous. Assuming we won't get a playoff anytime soon, I have proposed the following changes to the current BCS format.
1) The BCS title game will feature a)the winner of the SEC and b)the next highest ranked SEC team with the following conditions.
- team B did not lose the SEC championship
- team B has 2 or fewer losses (equivalent to going undefeated in all other leagues)
In the event all the conditions can not be met, team b will be the highest ranked non-SEC team.
2) No non-BCS team is allowed in BCS bowls, unless they have a win against a team ranked in the Top 10 either when they played or at the end of the season.
3) Only one Big 10 team allowed in the BCS. Should the Big 10 fill the championship game, the Rose Bowl must select a team from another conference.
- Should the Rose Bowl feature a Big 10 team, the Rose Bowl is relegated to 2nd tier status.
- Should the National Championship game feature a Big 10 team, all betting entities are urged to take the game off the board.

In the current system the SEC, ACC, and Big 12 hurt themselves by having 1 of their best 2 teams eliminated from contention in the conference championship games. Again, the PAC 10 and the Big 10 are more interested in their automatic free ride to the BCS than they are in finding a champion.
I should be ecstatic that UGA finished #2 with 3 Freshman O-lineman, and I am, but I have a great since of dissatisfaction with the season. Tweaking the system will only prolong the agony.
Trash it, and learn from the NAIA, 1AA, and High Schools across the country. They avoid the controversy and have record crowds as they crown an undisputed champion every season.
I really like what Adams has proposed.....I'll be honest and tell you the timing kinda sucks.....he, after all, has been against a playoff for a while now and it looks, even if I don't think it does, like we're crying......I can tell you this....he stoked the espn fire...I was listening to an espn show last night on the radio and you could tell that they are pissed....and good!! I think we should piss them off even more and run the table next year because you know that they will be pulling against us.
The only way to prove ourselves, in the current system at least, is to win them all.....you got a glimpse of how they flop with the HI game....lets use that asshat Mark May as an example...prior to the game he says HI can score on anyone and that UGA has never seen an offense or receivers like they have........then we beat the crap out of them and he, more or less, says they didn't deserve to be there....gives his helmet sticker to USC and then when Reece Davis asks about the Dawgs...he says "they lost to carolina".....Am I missing something????/Did LSU loose to ARKY? Did USC loose to Stanford? Did OSU loose to Ill.????? Wasn't Carolina ranked in the top 20 when we lost to them and didn't they get as high as 7th after???? You can't have it both ways.....and I'm getting to where I hate ESPN.
I agree with Jeebs....it needs to be trashed now....even though I know it won't and can't because of contracts.....the entire thing seems to be a contradiction.
