I know it has been a little slow on the PRF....I'll chalk it up to the blues we all feel when the regular season for the Dawgs comes to an end........speaking of our last Saturday in Athens for a while....can anyone remember a more beautiful day in the Classic City??? I mean it was as close to perfection (weather wise) as I can ever remember.......and the game was pretty good too......i'll be honest with you.....I miss the days of the student section on games like that.....all of us sneaking in....sitting together and going nuts when good things happen for the Dawgs......I thought about what it would have been like Saturday night when Mo Mass caught the TD had we all been together....ahh, good times. I guess now we cling to pro games as we wait to hear where our Dawgs will go bowling...it's just not the same though....and now that the Falcons have lost their minds and Vick has revived the Dirty Bird....i'm not sure who to follow and pull for........I like Denver and New England (Dawgs on each) but I also like Cincy, Seattle and the Giants....I guess I'll just hope for "good games" as I hold on to what is left of football season. I hope everyone is well and look forward to seeing you over the holidays.

chick-fil-a bowl is our future which is nice, if you can't BCS it nice to be close to home for us fans!...speaking of BCS other than the national title game which has its own contraversy what about Auburn? they have same record as LSU beat them and Florida yet for some reason they are 11th behind the IRISH which have not beaten a quality team since Weiss has been there. LSU #5, this is absolutley insane! if you have same record as another team they should not be ranked ahead of you. I.E. if USC slips this weekend Notre Dame can't pass michigan because they lost to Michigan!!! I think that Auburn is getting screwed by the BCS and I am not an Auburn fan. Please don't get me the body of work argument because that would put Florida in the national title game as the only team to beat 2 teams in the top 11 of the BCS and they won't even get considered if USC loses, Tenn which hammered california and is ranked...also, i would like to throw in the dallas cowboys as a super bowl contender after the giants blew a 21 point lead.
I just hope 2 SEC teams get in the BCS, else it will be hard to fit 9 in. We could get hosed, but at this point, I think everyone is so giddy over Tech/AU, any bowl is icing.
Though I see your point on AU and for conference pride/bowl $$$ sake I want them to be in, I also think it is pretty sweet that we knocked them out of BCS consideration and in so doing, indirectly affected Florida's chance at a national title. A one loss Florida team to a one loss Auburn team (to SEC runner-up) would be tough to keep out but a one loss FL team who lost to AU who lost to 8-4 UGA, they might be left out.
At least that is the way I'm choosing to look at it. Check out article in today's AJC to see the ACC opponents' records. PA - THET - IC!!!
Gotta love it. Tech gets in, loses to UGA, and the conference is so down, Jacksonville and the Orange Bowl are probably freaking out at the prospects. All that talk about getting the Big East out of the BCS tie in needs to shift to the ACC.
It's that time of year. Yes we are thankful, and yes, we are decking the halls, but what really has our attention is our annual dose of BCS rage.
Let me boil it down. LSU is not even playing in the SEC Championship game, but they are pretty well locked into the BCS. According to the standings, they are 3rd at best in the conference. Either #1 (UF) or #2 (ARK) will be out of BCS contention. In the current system, LSU is being rewarded for missing the championship game altogether, and 1 of the 2 best must be relegated to a lesser bowl. The SEC is slighted every year in the BCS, but it's because we spend the season clawing like cats and dogs to remain unbeaten, unlike those in the PAC10 and elsewhere. Once the in-conference schedule sets in there is no break in the action. It's time for a major conference to pull out of the BCS system. The SEC is the prime candidate for this since it's our schools who are hosed year after year. However, rather than reclaiming the integrity of the game, they will continue to wallow in the bowl payouts. For years we have debated the merits of paying college athletes for their value to their schools. I oppose that for what it would do to the game. My greatest argument against money to athletes is what it has and is doing to college football today; destroying it. As the schools/conferences enrich themselves the players and fans are robbed of a pure contest and a legitimate means for determining the true champion. The integrity of NCAA football has been sold for a bowl of porridge and a bag of Tostitos.
