I like to look at these things by position. According to Scout.com, this is how we fared:
Position, Players, (rank in the country by position)
RB Samuel (4), Thomas (15), Jackson (23), Avery (57)
for a team with a Heisman contender and young Caleb King coming up, these 4 will add to an already stout backfield.
WR Green (2), King (22)
due to his height, Green is describes as the new Randy Moss
TE Ros (22)
always good to have a young one on the bench
OT Harmon (10), Glen (15)
strength on the edges means time to pass for Stafford
OG Owens (39)
not bad since 2 are on the field at a time
C Jones (5)
good skills for the guy who touches the ball every play
DT Tyson (3)
brawn in the middle
DE Jackson (9), Washington (13), Longo (30)
we'll see 1 or 2 of these in the NFL one day
WLB Dowtin (9), Robinson (46)
learn from Rennie fellas
S Rambo (29), Williams (42), Pugh (66)
good competition back there
CB Boykin (14), Commings (39)
needed in the secondary
K Walsh (1)
best kicking prospect in the nation!
I have no doubt that we will see a few of these guys this year making Spurrier throw his hat or helping Tebow off the ground following a sack. Recruiting is only step one. Now it is up to CMR and staff to prepare these guys for a run at #1. I'm confident.

Reason to be confident, good rundown. I have become so spoiled that I really only look at linemen anymore to make sure we don't have depth issues where an injury or two can ruin the season. That speaks volumes about the confidence I have that we will get the necessary skill people.
I have been saying for some time that the SEC is the closest thing college football has to the NFL and this drives the point home more deeply. You have to have great players, make wise "personnel" decisions, but your competition is doing the same. You then have to have the best facilities, training, and coaching, and your competition is doing the same.
The margin for error is razor thin and yet, as Pat Dye said, "The thing about the SEC, even our bad teams are good."
I think T. King, A.J. Green, Troupe, might be the talk of the nation in 2009. For 08, it will be Know, C King, and M Staff.
And you are right, UGA is becoming DE U.
